2024 Young Peoples - Elders Gathering | oskâyak kihtiyatisak mâmawapiwin

The Young Peoples - Elders Gathering | oskâyak kihtiyatisak mâmawapiwin, is an extension of the Truth and Reconciliation Conference that UCN has hosted for the last 7 years. UCN held the Young Peoples Elders Gathering on March 21 & 22, 2024.

Since the initial release of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report in 2015, the Canadian government, educational institutions, community organizations and Canadians have been responsible for repairing the harms caused by residential schools.

The Young Peoples - Elders Gathering | oskâyak kihtiyatisak mâmawapiwin theme of "Stoking the Embers: Connecting Generations" is about creating a space to learn and share information and participate in the healing work that often takes place around a fire; a symbol that brings everyone together.
