Looking to gain hands-on skills in small engine repair? Our Small Motor Repair Courses are the perfect way to get started in the world of marine and outdoor power equipment maintenance. Designed for beginners, this short-term training introduces you to the foundational knowledge and techniques used in the industry.

These courses provide you with five credits toward the UCN Small Motor Repair Certificate Program: UC.VTR.0100 Shop Safety and Hand Tools (3 credits) and UC.VTR.0101 Basic Small Engine (2 credits). They give you a strong foundation and open doors to advanced training and future opportunities in the field.

Program Highlights

  • Location: Misipawistick Cree Nation
  • Dates: July 7 - 18, 2025 (Full-time, 2 weeks)
  • Hands-On Learning: Split between classroom instruction and shop-based practical training.
  • Key Skills Covered:
    • Safe work practices and tool handling in a repair shop.
    • Understanding two- and four-stroke engine basics.
    • Disassembling and inspecting small engines.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have completed Grade 10 or higher.
  • Must be underemployed or unemployed.
  • Open to Misipawistik Cree Nation members only.
