UCN launched their new strategic plan: Kiskinohtahiwewin in July 2015. It consists of four strategic directions:
- Northern & Aboriginal Culture
- Innovative & Responsive Education
- Trades & Industrial Skills
- Student Centered
UCN’s Joint Implementation Team, comprised of UCN staff appointed by the President, will oversee the implementation and communication plans. The Outcomes Assessment model is the framework that will be utilized for implementing the new strategic plan.
There are five assessment cycles that align with the five year strategic plan. Each cycle begins July 1st and ends June 30th of the following year. Outcomes Assessment (OA) sessions for the first assessment cycle (July 1, 2015 – June 30, 2016) began at the latter end of August and will conclude by December 2015. All staff will be given an opportunity to participate in annual OA sessions to develop a plan that will enable them to evaluate their progress towards meeting the 2015-2020 strategic plan. Each area/unit will be required to select goals already identified within the strategic plan and build upon them by identifying clear objectives and measurements. Each area/unit will be required to report on their progress semi-annually as specified by the prescribed reporting dates.
