How long is the ceremony?

Depending upon the number of graduands/graduates in each ceremony, the length of the speeches, etc. the length of the ceremonies can vary.  Generally speaking, you can expect the ceremony to last approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

Children are welcome to attend the ceremony.  However, please keep in mind that the ceremony lasts 2 to 2.5 hours.

What happens after the ceremony?

At the end of each ceremony graduands/graduates will process to the reception area where light refreshments will be served.  This is an excellent location to meet your graduands/graduates.  Do not arrange to meet at the exit doors of the venue as this area must be kept clear.

Portraits/Photography

Graduands can pick up their gowns and graduates can pick up their gowns and v-stoles earlier than the day of Convocation so that pictures can be taken in advance of the ceremony.  Gown distribution and return dates, times and locations will be circulated closer to the date.

Where can I stand to take pictures?

Guests can take photos from picture row which is reserved at the very front of the ceremony floor.  Guests are not permitted to take photos from the aisles during the ceremony due to fire regulations.

Photographers from LifeTouch will be offering appointments for portrait photographs in The Pas and Thompson.  More detailed information about dates/times and how to book an appointment for a portrait sitting will be circulated to students.
