The Swan River Regional Centre opened in November of 2011. The following certificate, diploma, and university level programs have been delivered with instructors and university faculty teaching on-site in Swan River.
Certificate programs of Health Care Aide, Applied Counseling, Basic Business Principles, Heavy Duty Mechanics, Industrial Welding,
Automotive Technician and Carpentry/Woodworking. Diploma programs include Business Administration. First and second year university level courses from UCN’s Faculty of Arts, Business and Science. Apprenticeship Level 1 training of Industrial Mechanic and Heavy Duty Mechanic.
The Primary Care Paramedic program has been delivered twice from this Regional Centre.
Computer training and professional development workshops have also been offered.

The town of Swan River, Manitoba is a scenic area located in the Swan River Valley between the Porcupine and the Duck Mountains. Swan River is approximately 504 kilometres (315 miles) northwest of Winnipeg, Manitoba on Provincial Highway #10.  The communities located in this area have access to provincial parks, great swimming, excellent hunting and fishing, as well as many other outdoor attractions. The economy is based on mixed farming and forestry with a growing manufacturing sector.  The population base of the community and surrounding trade area is approximately 13,000.
