In this program, students learn the basic skills of plumbing, carpentry and electrical. Upon completion students will have the skillset to repair and maintain residential, commercial or industrial buildings, work as a trades helper or enter into an apprenticeship program. Student successfully completing this one-year program will receive a certificate in construction trades.
Each course within the program will have curriculum related to occupational safety and health, and both theory and practical components of the program will emphasize knowledge and practices for a safe workplace.
Career Opportunities
Graduates may find employment with various construction or industrial companies and/or maintenance of a variety of community and business facilities. Graduates may also pursue further training in an apprenticeship program of their choice: carpenter, electrician, and plumber.
