Message from the Dean

UCN’s Trades and Technology faculty offers a wide range of certificate, diploma and apprenticeship and professional development training that meets the demand of Northern Manitoba’s rapidly growing economy. The faculty’s programs have gained a reputation for excellence. We are in demand because of our excellent instructors, success rates, close relationships with industry and community partners, and opportunities for lifelong learning.

We offer more than 250 courses in 14 different full-time day programs, leading to a diploma or certificate in the student’s chosen discipline. Part-time studies, contract training and the in-school technical training component in 3 apprenticeship trades (Millwright, Electrician & Carpenter) are also available through the faculty.

I would like to express my appreciation to the many industry representatives that have supported our students. We would be unable to maintain our high standards of technical education without our partners in business and industry. Such partnerships are essential for the faculty to continue to produce graduates ready to take their place in the rapidly changing, highly technical fields.
