Two year Diploma
On Campus and Community Based Programs
The diploma is designed to maximize student’s knowledge skills and attitudes required for employment and advancement in the field of Early Childhood Education.
 
The Early Childhood Education diploma is an outcome/competency-based program. Employment opportunities for graduates are increasing as the need for quality child care increases. Opportunities for employment exists in a variety of early childhood settings and related employment sectors. Program graduates will be eligible to receive classification as an Early Childhood Educator level 2 from Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care
 
Early Childhood Education Workplace Program
 
Description
In the Early Childhood Education Workplace Program students complete the diploma program by attending classes two full days per week and will return to their place of employment for three days per week.
The program integrates the experience of employed Child Care Assistants with the knowledge and skills required to become an Early Childhood Educator
 
Who should apply
Child Care Assistants who are currently employed in a licensed family, school age, infant, toddler or preschool child care center with a minimum of two years experience working in child care
 
New to University College of the North
Post Diploma Certificate
 
Early Learning and Child Care Administration
 
The post diploma certificate will provide further education for graduates from the University College of The North Early Childhood Education program and other approved programs in the province of Manitoba.
Graduates will have the administrative skills to lead early learning and child care programs.
Graduates will be eligible to apply for classification level three from Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care office
 
Admission Requirements
Students entering the certificate program must have obtained a Early Childhood Education Diploma and received a classification level two from Manitoba Early Learning and Child Care office and have worked in the child care field for two years.
Students must provide a copy of their diploma and classification and provide proof of child care experience.
