UCN’s Academic Specialist works directly with UCN Deans, Directors, faculty and others to provide professional-level consultation and collaborative support for the development of innovative and engaging instructional materials, including quality control initiatives such as Program Advisory Committees and Program Reviews. In addition, the Academic Specialist supports UCN-wide curricular initiatives that are consistent with Aboriginal and Northern philosophies, values, traditions, languages and teaching methodologies.

Indigenous Curriculum Specialist will be the primary academic resource within UCN to assist faculty to incorporate Indigenous epistemologies into their professional practice in a variety of ways, including:
- supporting the inclusion of Indigenous content and context, as well as teaching and learning methods and perspectives;
- mentoring teaching, learning, and research in Indigenous andragogy and related areas, and
- supporting faculty as they integrate Indigenous worldviews with Western perspectives.
In addition, the Indigenous Curriculum Specialist will recommend academic structures and processes by which students can experience their post-secondary education in alignment with their own lives, worldviews, and goals.

UCN's Quality Assurance Coordinator works to provide Campus and Regional Centre supports regarding Student Course Evaluations, Student Entrance Surveys, and Student Exit Interviews. The Quality Assurance Coordinator also schedules and/or facilitates classroom visits with tablets to ensure high response rates for form fill-out of their online evaluations and troubleshoots UCN’s online student course evaluation software, eXplorance Blue. Projects pertaining to the evaluations, surveys and interviews are also created and reports are generated in eXplorance Blue to retrieve data used for internal quality assurance purposes.
