I have taught at numerous universities in Canada prior to arriving at UCN.  My experience from those previous positions is something I hope to be able to share with UCN.  I enjoy teaching at the university level; in particular I enjoy working through the more complex ideas with students and helping them to develop their ability to understand and use those ideas.

Research Activity/Scholarship
My research interests include the study of social inequality, the sociology of aging and the family, the sociology of education, and First Nations peoples in Canada.  My recent work has included research for the National Aboriginal Health Organization, the Public Health Agency of Canada (with the Victorian Order of Nurses for Canada), an educational review/audit for the Mississauga First Nation, and research on Young Workers and safety training.  I also have extensive experience in the field of research ethics (for research involving human subjects).
